Ruffled Ribbon Topiary

I found this Ruffled Ribbon Topiary on Crazy Domestic and decided to try it out for Pat and Steph's graduation party!  Such a simple and cute way to spruce up a party or even as decoration in your home!
To make the ruffle ribbon, you need to do a little sewing {something that is very foreign to me}.  Take some elastic and sew it to one side of the ribbon {zig zag stitch}, pulling the elastic as you sew so that it bunches up when it returns to its original form.
Then you pin the ruffled ribbon around a Styrofoam ball, pushing the pins into the elastic so they are hidden, until you completely cover the ball.
I painted a clay pot white and put floral foam in the bottom to hold the stick.  Then I covered the floral foam with moss and tied a matching ribbon for the finishing touch!
