The best time of the baseball season has come..and gone..and I loved EVERY minute of it! A few weeks ago, we were all set to go to Bryan's second all-star game of his career, but then a little hamstring strain changed our plans and we were back spending the three days off resting in Mobile, AL.
Usually I'm the planner and last year for the all-star break, I found the National Naval Aviation Museum in Pensacola, FL so we went there and got to see the Blue Angels practice! This year, I was exhausted from all the change of flights so I was happy to learn that B had looked up some fun things to do around Mobile! On the first day off, we rested! Much needed since the night before, the second game of the Baybears doubleheader went into extra innings so they didn't get home from Montgomery until 4am...and I had spent that whole day traveling.
Day two (Sunday) was adventure day! We went and explored the USS Alabama! It was pretty cool seeing the inside of the battleship and how it had all the amenities needed to live on the water..full kitchen, laundry, and even a photography room. We don't think Bryan would of been able to live on it though, he was too tall for the beds! There was also a submarine that we got to explore and B DEFINITELY couldn't live in a sub...the doors were 3 feet! (See photo below haha)
We capped off the fun day with dinner at the Original Oyster House, it's on the Causeway overlooking the Mobile Bay. We have a question, do they have crab claws back in Cali?! Because every time we eat seafood out here we get them and they are SOOO yummy but have never seen them back home!
I wasn't sure what we'd do on Day Three (Monday) since we had gone on such a big adventure the day before, but Bryan knows what I like! He found outlets nearby and asked if I wanted to go...um, yea! So we took a little drive to Foley, AL and hit up the outlets and Chick-fil-A! =) Eat...I feel like that's all we do out here!
PS - Today is my brother-in-law's birthday...Happy Birthday Darren! Bought you some Southern goodies =)
